  • Originally established by Joseph Pilates, Romana Pilates was popularized by Joseph Pilates’ student, Romana Kryzanowska. This lineage honors the traditional intentions of the practice - muscle control, precision, concentration and the coordination of breath with movement.

  • In the hours after your first workout, you’re likely to feel energized and rejuvenated. You may even notice more restful sleep. In the days following your first workout, you might notice muscle activation or soreness you haven’t felt before, which is completely normal. Our expert instructors value form and aim to promote activation of “powerhouse” muscles, that is, muscle groups from the bottom of the ribs to the bottom of the pelvis, that promote balance and stability.

  • Over time, you’ll notice increased muscle tone, strength and overall endurance. Strenuous tasks and more intense workouts might begin to feel less challenging. Additional benefits of a regular pilates practice also include improved flexibility, improved posture, increased bodily awareness, reduced stress, a reduction in chronic pain and a reduced risk of injury.
